Vehicle Rescue AWARENESS (NFPA1670)

Program Length: 3 hours
Program Description: This program lays the foundation of principals & theory needed for emergency response personnel who respond to motor vehicle crashes. The program highlights hazards to the rescuer & to the patient(s) involved and focuses on the identification of those hazards. Also the student will be given an overview of supplemental safety systems (SRS) in today's vehicles and the operations cycle of the motor vehicle crash incident is reviewed. This program is an excellent review for ALL emergency personnel (police, fire, EMS & rescue) as well an excellent primer for new personnel.

Vehicle Rescue OPERATIONS (NFPA1670)

Prerequisite: Vehicle Rescue AWARENESS & Hazmat Operations
Program Length: 32 hours
Program Description:
This program expands upon the principals & theory learned in Vehicle rescue Awareness to include safety considerations, hazard control and the team process. The program highlights vehicle technology and its impact upon rescue activities as well as safety concerns. Vehicle stabilization and the tools needed to perform such stabilization on vehicles in a multitude of orientations are covered. The program reviews the tools and the skills needed to perform material movement evolutions pertinent to today's vehicles. The scope of the program includes hand, pneumatic and electric tools as well as power hydraulic tools and pneumatic lifting bags. Classroom presentations are enhanced by the use of multi-media, props as well as cutting edge information on today's vehicles.

Vehicle Rescue TECHNICIAN (NFPA 1670)

Prerequisite: Vehicle Rescue OPERATIONS
Program Length: 24 hours
Program Description: This program takes upon the lessons learned & skills developed in the Vehicle Rescue Operations program and expands upon them in a multitude of directions, the focus of the program being situation problem solving and the development the team concept. The roles of the rescue officer & IC are explored and defined. Crash dynamics & specific types of crashes are reviewed. The students develop operational plans & guides and put their developed plans into various operational states including tabletop scenarios. Team development is reviewed and put into focus at the motor vehicle crash. Incidents involving
large/unusual vehicle are reviewed. The program caps off with hands-on problem solving situations for the student teams to resolve.

New Vehicle Technology for Emergency Responders

Prerequisite: None
Program length: 3 to 6 hours (Varies due to customer requirements.)
Program Description: This program is a dynamic learning experience highlighting information on new technology found in today's vehicles. The program couples a multi-media classroom presentation with an innovative hands-on program. This program is designed for all emergency responders since new technology impacts the response to many different situations, from vehicle lockouts to vehicle fires to motor vehicle crashes.

Vehicle Rescue Specialist BUS/COMMERCIAL COACH

Prerequisite: Vehicle Rescue OPERATIONS
Program Length: 16 hours
Program Description: This program develops the skills needed for the rescuer to understand and perform effective rescue solutions at the scene of an incident involving a bus/commercial coach. This program will cover the A&P of the various types of buses, hazard recognition & control issues associated with such vehicles and stabilization problems with these vehicles. This program will also give the rescuer the tool knowledge as well as hands on skills needed to perform material movement evolutions on buses & coaches. Also reviewed are the multi patient concerns associated with these vehicles.

Use of the Combination Rescue Tool

Prerequisite: Vehicle Rescue Awareness
Program Length: 3 hours
Program Description: This program highlights the uses of the combination (cutter/spreader) power hydraulic rescue tool. The program will assist the rescuer with understanding the pros and cons with this tool and aid the rescuer with tips on how to expand this tool's capabilities. The program also demonstrates nontraditional usage of this tool in various situations.

Advanced Stabilization

Prerequisite: Vehicle Rescue Operations or equivalent
Program Length: 12 hours
Program Description: This program delivers the knowledge & hands-on skills needed for the rescuer to stabilize a variety of vehicles in unusual situations. The students will be familiarized with a wide range of stabilization adjuncts coupled with pertinent background information. Also the student's working knowledge and skill with cribbing and shoring will be enhanced and developed along the lines of "creative cribbing". This program is an excellent enhancement to the Vehicle Rescue Operations program as well as a stand-alone refresher program.

Vehicle Rescue Specialist Pickups, Minivans & SUV's

Prerequisite: Vehicle Rescue Awareness
Program Length: 3 hours
Program Description: This program develops the skills needed for the rescuer to understand and perform effective rescue solutions at the scene of an incident involving a Minivan and or a sport utility vehicle (SUV). This program will cover various types of vehicles, hazard recognition & control issues associated with such vehicles and stabilization problems with these vehicles. This program will also give the rescuer the tool knowledge needed to perform material movement evolutions on these vehicle types. Also reviewed are the multi patient concerns associated with these vehicles.

Vehicle Rescue Specialist LARGE TRUCKS

Prerequisite: Vehicle Rescue OPERATIONS
Program length: 16 hours
Program Description: This program develops the skills needed by the rescuer to effectively mitigate an incident involving a large truck. Topics the program will cover include identification of the various types of large trucks, anatomy of the large truck, construction & technology issues and hazard control considerations. Vehicle stabilization and the use of non-traditional adjuncts are discussed. Knowledge of tools & equipment needed to perform rescue evolutions on large vehicles are covered in depth as well as hands on application of the material movement evolutions covered in the program.

Operational Review of the Motor Vehicle Crash (MVC)

Prerequisite: Vehicle Rescue AWARENESS
Program Length: 3 hours
Program Description: This program reviews the principals & theory needed for all emergency response personnel who respond to motor vehicle crashes. The program highlights hazards to the rescuer & to the patient(s) involved, review of the operational cycle at the MVC and of supplemental safety systems (SRS) in today's vehicles. This program is an excellent review for ALL emergency personnel (police, fire, EMS & rescue).
